About Dr. Atandrila Das
Dr Das is a highly skilled colorectal and general surgery consultant based in Melbourne, Australia. As a fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (RACS) and a member of the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ), Dr. Das is committed to providing exceptional, minimally invasive, personal surgical care.
Graduating with First Class Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2008, Dr Das completed her general surgery training in Melbourne in 2018. Driven by an interest in advanced minimally invasive techniques in the field of colorectal surgery, Dr Das has undertook subspeciality training in colorectal surgery, including a prestigious advanced robotic fellowship year at the world-renowned Oxford University Hospitals in Oxford, UK.
A strong advocate for advancing surgical knowledge and techniques, Dr Das is actively engaged in surgical research and is currently undertaking her PhD in personalised medicine for metastatic colorectal cancer with the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. Her work is frequently presented at major conferences and published in leading scientific journals. Dr Das's academic excellence has been recognised through numerous scholarships and grants, including the Medtronic Scholarship, Reg. Worcester Research Scholarship, The Australian Rotary Health Judith Annette Thompson PhD Scholarship, CSSANZ Foundation Grant, and the International Robotic Surgery Live travel grant.
Committed to shaping the future of colorectal surgery, Dr Das is an ASSET and CCRISP instructor, where she imparts technical and critical care management skills to surgical trainees. She is also a valued member of the Academy of Surgical Educators.
Dr. Das consults and operates at Northern Health Public and Private hospitals, and Warringal Private Hospital, offering expertise in a range of general surgery and colorectal conditions, and offers consultations in English and Bengali.
